Captain's Log; star date Friday 29th July
Today saw our building contractors (soon to be announced but they are local) begin the positioning of new electrical sockets and lighting. Lots of new wall sockets were prepared in readiness of our new flooring display units. Down lighter numbers and positioning were agreed during a mid morning almond croissant coffee break and written on the bag of the croissant packaging. A modern day equivalent to the Magna Carta. We cheer and self congratulate ourselves… aarggh, hope Patricia didn't throw the packaging away. PATRICIA ! ! ? ?
The afternoon sees us behaving unusually serious for a Friday. The structural engineer arrives to survey the showroom floor. His verdict was a tad deflating. The floor needs strengthening for it's new use. Robert, the lead man from the building contractors, takes an enormous deep breath before delivering the news to us Flooring Gurus. It means every joist will need bracing. All achievable but likely to cost the builders an additional 2, may be 3 days extra work…
Showroom re-opening on schedule for 1st week in September
